THE WORKS
Vessel operators are advised that four (4) new lit buoys have been installed into the waters of Yowie Bay, Port Hacking. The buoys will mark a channel upstream from Neil’s Inlet towards the Wonga Road boat ramp and 8 knot speed restriction area.
NAVIGATION WARNING
Vessel operators are advised to exercise extreme caution when navigating in the vicinity, to slow down to less than 8 knots and to keep wash to a minimum. This navigation warning will remain in place and the restricted area will be marked with signage and buoys.
DIRECTIONS
Roads and Maritime Services advises:
Persons within the vicinity of the works must comply with any safety directions given by a Boating Safety Officer or Police Officer. Failure to comply with any such direction is an offence (Marine Safety Act 1998, s.15A - Maximum Penalty $3,300.00).In addition, vessel operators are reminded to:
Keep a proper lookout at all times;Keep vessel wash to a minimum. Creation of such wash is also an offence (clause 9(2) Marine Safety (General) Regulation 2009 – Maximum Penalty $5,500.00); andMaintain a speed of 8 knots or less. No unauthorised vessels are permitted to exceed the speed restriction of the Area and to do so may be an offence (Marine Safety Act 1998, s.11 — Maximum Penalty $1,100.00)
